How do you plan to balance the needs of bicycle riders with the needs ot the elderly who need to use either buses or taxis? I am extremely upset by “Summer Streets” being in central midtown which means that if an elderly person needs to take a bus or a cab through that area it could take a life-threatening amount of time and/or be prohibitively expensive. I wrote to the mayor’s office last year and suggested moving things like this to York or 12th Avenue where able-bodied people can get to them and they are less disruptive. This would also apply to the numerous redundant street fairs that block streets from buses and taxis.
