I saw a post on FB proposing a comprehensive snow-removal policy, and I agree. The post also reminded me of the problem of garbage in the streets and particularly on the sidewalks. In Forest Hills, a string of restaurants and businesses on Queens Blvd. leave the sidewalks splattered and smeared with food and liquids, hundreds of cigarette butts, papers, wrappers, bottles, you name it. I’ve written to the businesses, called 311 and written to Karen Koslowitz, but nothing has changed. A staff person at CB9 told me business owners are only responsible for cleaning in front of their store in time for their customers. It’s crazy, and disgusting.

Hello ALL Council members. I am: Vivian and I am contacting ALL of you to file a criminal report about a school called: Per Scholas Institute for Technology. I am asking ALL of you Council members to please do an investigation of the school called: Per Scholas Institute for Technology’s financial dealings. You see Per Scholas Institute for Technology is a non-profit business that teaches poor and disadvantage people the skills of computers in the Information Technology (IT). Per Scholas does this in order to prepare students to pass the CompTIA A+ Certificate and the CompTIA Network+ Certificate.
Per Scholas Institute for Technology receive money through donations but Per Scholas is not using the money that Per Scholas receives through donations to make sure that us students receive what is needed to effectively learn Information Technology (IT) and retain the knowledge of Information Technology (IT). I were a student of Per Scholas starting in the early part of July 2014 but then I were WRONGFULLY removed from Per Scholas on September 4, 2014 by a Per Scholas staff named: Elias Naser. I were WRONGFULLY removed from Per Scholas because I refuse to go through the frustration caused by Per Scholas’ incompetence and unorganized business practices.
Per Scholas Institute for Technology’s incompetence and unorganized business practices is why I were WRONGFULLY removed from Per Scholas. You can read below the three Per Scholas’ incompetence and unorganized business practices that got me WRONGFULLY removed from Per Scholas after I refuse to tolerate Per Scholas’ incompetence and unorganized business practices and after I reported these upcoming three Per Scholas’ incompetence and unorganized business practices to Per Scholas.


(1) Per Scholas Institute for Technology has a website that we students used so that we students can do our tests, homeworks and more for class in which that Per Scholas website link is here: http://lms.perscholas.org/. That Per Scholas’ website has a lot of bugs, errors and glitches that has been an ongoing chronically problems. Per Scholas has been stealing the donation money that is suppose to be going to fix all the problems with their: http://lms.perscholas.org/ website. Now after multiple problems with that Per Scholas website I stop doing my homeworks which at that time Per Scholas were already told about the problems with their website by me. Per Scholas also already knew about the problems with their Per Scholas website even before I and the other students started the class in the early part of July 2014.


(2) Per Scholas Institute for Technology’s program runs at this time for 13 weeks (3 months and 1 week). The way that Per Scholas has their program setup makes is very hard to impossible to retain or remember the computer Information Technology (IT) knowledge for even 6 months or less. Per Scholas is not using the donated money to have a proper teaching method so that we students can do great in the Information Technology (IT) field. The FOURTH EDITION book by Mike Meyers called: Managing and Troubleshooting PCs that Per Scholas give us also have various typos and misleading information in it. Once again Per Scholas is not using the donated money to have a proper teaching method so that we students can do great in the Information Technology (IT) field.


(3) Per Scholas Institute for Technology have computers for us students to work on which Per Scholas called: the break and fix computers that we student use for hands on practice. Those break and fix computers are garbage. Per Scholas receives over $7,000 in donation for each student. Every three years or so Per Scholas could buy a more modern computer for very cheap which would be less than $600.00 by building new computers when Per Scholas buy computer parts in order to build new break and fix computers. Per Scholas is not using the money that Per Scholas received from donations to make sure that we students have working break and fix computers. Per Scholas Institute for Technology are engaged in fraud due to the stealing of the money that is donated to Per Scholas for us students to be taught properly. That is why I am asking ALL of you Council members to please do an investigation into Per Scholas Institute for Technology financial dealings because Per Scholas has been stealing the donated money for months and years now. I am requesting this report for the investigation into Per Scholas’ financial dealings to make sure that future students do not have those problems that me, the other students in my class, the other students in the other classes are having now and had. Those three problems happened to ALL of us students in the classes that I were in and were not in. Those problems happened to ALL the students of Per Scholas in one way or another. The Per Scholas’ staffs are liars so be careful. If the putting Per Scholas out of business is needed then please put Per Scholas out of business. If instead bring Per Scholas up on criminal charges and/or arresting Per Scholas staffs are needed then please bring Per Scholas up on criminal charges and/or please arrest the Per Scholas staffs. Please help us students at Per Scholas and thank you in advance.

Mr Puttle’s Pedestrian Theorem: improving traffic flow and pedestrian safety

The constant movement of both traffic and pedestrians is an on-going conflict in New York City, especially with regards to “cross-town” traffic. Intersections are a blockage of metal and flesh vying for supremacy, each hoping the other will yield. To help improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety, I offer a simple adjustment to the pedestrian pattern at each cross walk of intersecting streets and avenues.


Take for example, 22nd Street and Eighth Avenue. Twenty Second Street’s traffic flow is one way East bound across Manhattan. Eighth Avenue’s traffic flow is one way North bound. At the intersection, pedestrians would ONLY be allowed to cross Eighth Avenue on the South side of the “box”. This would allow the East bound traffic, especially those who want to turn left onto Eighth Avenue, unrestricted movement to do so, thereby allowing more traffic to pass both through the intersection and onto Eighth Avenue.


Currently, turning traffic must wait for an opening between trans versing pedestrians to safely pass by and move north. Waiting for their opportunity do so often causes following traffic to remain standing due their inability to continue. Horn honking is often a result of this situation.


Conversely, at the intersection of 22nd Street and Ninth Avenue, (which is one way South), pedestrians would ONLY be allowed to cross on the North side of the intersection, thereby allow turning vehicles unrestricted access to Ninth Avenue.


To assist the pedestrian flow crossing the Avenues, I propose the cross walk pathway be doubled in width to accommodate the additional pedestrians waiting to move.


This system would work best at the intersection of two one way streets as described above, but could also be applied to intersections of a two way street and one way avenue, such as 23rd Street and Eighth Avenue. Pedestrian traffic would need to cross Eighth Avenue on the south side of the intersection.


Inevitably there would be some resistance to this new procedure and the learning curve required for those on foot, but ultimately it would improve traffic flow and public safety simultaneously.


As a former pedestrian resident and current vehicular visitor, I have intimate knowledge of the urban transportation modalities of the city and wish only to make this unique environment more enjoyable for all.


Accompanying this theorem is a diagram depicting the patterns of both vehicles and pedestrians.

I am the President of the Van Duzer Street Civic Association on Staten Island. I would like to get a speaker from your organization to address traffic concerns we have in our neighborhood. We live along a street that is used by commuters coming from the SI Ferry to reach the SI Expressway. We have some major construction projects coming to our community in the coming years that we need to get traffic solutions for. We have applied without success so far to be a Slow Zone. Our next meeting will take place on November 12. We hope you would be able to attend.

I live in Boerum Hill. Does Streets PAC endorse any of the DA candidates? It would be nice to have a district attorney who aggressively prosecuted reckless motorized vehicle behavior that results in pedestrian and cyclist injury. There just isn’t any information out there on which candidates might be more aggressive enforcers.

I object to your policy that I must open my address book, contact list and friends email addresses to comment on your endorsements. Not at all democratic.

About the 17th where I have gone on Boggie Down rides. Arroyo is corrupt to the bone. Julio Pabon was biking all around the Bronx campaigning. He deserves the endorsement.

Why/how did my Twitter handle get tied up in my profile info? I didn’t want my name and my Twitter handle associated with one another on the same web page. I don’t remember giving my twitter handle to the donate form and I don’t recall it asking me if that was okay to tie it all together
